SiSoft Sandra 2007 SP1 (cont'd)

I used to be a big fan of Ace's precompiled Linpack binary, but these days we have processors with L caches far larger than Linpack's largest (2mb) block size. Luckily, SANDRA now has its own tool for measuring cache and memory speeds out to a far larger block size. I split this test into two different graphs to better show the scale of the bandwidth as the block sizes increase. There are two very different tests going on here: Cache speed and main memory speed.

Clovertown not only has fast cache, but it has a LOT of it! As we move out into main memory, the Core-based Xeons are neck-and-neck, seemingly contradicting SANDRA's memory bandwidth test.
