AMD Duron?

Well, in the eternal search for names that sound familiar but really mean nothing, AMD has recently announced that their newest Athlon based CPUs will be called the Duron.

Hopefully they will have SMP supporting chipsets and boards before too long. Here's a quote from the press release:
The AMD Duron processor is derived from the AMD Athlon(TM) processor core and features full-speed, on-chip L2 cache memory, a 200MHz front side system bus, and enhanced 3DNow!(TM) technology. AMD plans to begin shipping AMD Duron processors in June.
Thanks to VE for the info.
