ATI's Radeon

ATI just introduced their next-generation Radeon chipset at WinHEC, and the NDA's have been lifted all over the place. FiringSquad has a (p)review of the technology around this newest of ATI chips. On paper it looks extremely impressive, with fill rates up to 1.5 gigapixels and support for ATI's MAXX SLI technology as well.

While ATI has never been the best of companies for high-end solutions, they've always had solid cards with great video-capture and DVD playback. SMP support is usually way down the list when it comes to most companies, we can only hope that someone at ATI is inspired.
