Detonator 5.22 OpenGL Fix
Posted on: 06/05/2000 03:57 AM

As many of you might have experienced problems with OpenGL games locking up with the new Detonator 2 5.22 drivers while using Win2K, 3DSpotlight has a few registry settings that should improve your stability:

Those of you out there who are experiencing crashes in Opengl games such as Soldier of Fortune (e.g. GLimp_EndFrame() - SwapBuffers() failed!) after installing the Detonator 2 drivers for Windows 2000 will need to fix it using this procedure. NOTE - Only try this procedure if you are experiencing problems.
1. Click, Start, Run.
2. Type in regedit & hit Enter.
3. Go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\OpenGLDrivers]. Delete the RIVATNT subkey.
4. Go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\OpenGLDrivers] & make a New String Value entitled nvoglnt. Alternatively download the registry file here to add it.
Thanks to the nVidia newsgroup (unknown_error in particular) for mentioning the basic fix.
Cool, hope this helps a few of you out.
