The Nando Times has got the scoop on a new chip from IBM that doubles the computers memory. This sounds like real interesting technology as the prices for memory are probally going to rise.
The memory-doubling is achieved by a chip that acts as an intermediary between the processor, which is the brain of a computer, and the memory. The chip encodes data so that it takes up half the space, IBM said.

IBM's Memory eXpansion Technology is 10,000 times faster than software-based schemes, company spokesman Matthew McMahon said.
