In other Linux news, ZDNet is reporting on an announcement that is expected today at LinuxWorld. It appears that a group of companies will be throwing their weight behind GNOME and making a run at Microsoft.
Among the companies slated to announce their support for GNOME at a press conference Tuesday at LinuxWorld in San Jose, Calif., are Compaq, Hewlett-Packard Co., IBM and Sun. The group will call itself the GNOME Foundation.
