Linux on an SMP box

The guys over at Signal|Ground have put together a nice article on SMP and Linux.

Since i'm just cutting my teeth on Linux, this comes at the perfect time. It's fast on a Celeron2 @ 640 so i'm sure it's gonna smoke on a dual P3 800.
Why was I so attracted to SMP? Why had I so longingly drooled over the specifications of motherboards such as the BP6? It seemed to me that there was something in SMP systems that had nearly the same feel as a massively parallel supercomputer. Sure, a board like the BP6 can only handle 2 processors, but the thrill factor was (and still is) quite high.

Check out the rest here.
