Not "open source" (but free is good)

Macromedia, makers of the coolest web developement software on the planet, are planning on "free source" licensing the Flash Player Source Code SDK and the Flash File Format SDK. According to this article over at BeNews, Macromedia will be providing this free code to aid developers in porting their player. Flash for Be anyone? Reader Benjamin Zeiss received an e-mail from Macromedia Flash Player product manager Troy Evans regarding their decision to open source Flash Player in mid January. It will include documentation to assist in the porting of Flash Player and the Flash File Format (SWF). Update: The source is to be free, not open.
