SATA Optical Drives by 2004

I am all about the whole tiny cable thing that SATA has going for it, but what good is it if your optical drives still use the bulky, nasty flat ribbon cables? Say no more! According to this article, SATA will become the standard for optical drives too... by mid 2004.

Not convinced? Phillips, Intel and Silicon Image are already demonstrating a DVD+RW drive riding the SATA train.
