Supermicro Super P4DP8-G2

I decided to break my own rule today and let you all know what I've got going in my underground testing facility (it really is underground too!). I know that this will open me up to the 500 emails/day asking "When is that review going to be done?!?", but I'm too excited to keep it to myself.

As you probably know, I've been working for a long time trying to establish a relationship with the people over at Supermicro. Other than Tyan, I think Supermicro has the biggest presence in the dual (and more) processor market, so it would only be logical for us to work together. That dream has finally become a reality, and they pulled out all the stops.

For our first real Supermicro review in a long time, I will be taking a look at the Super P4DP8-G2. While you may look at the spec initially and say "Woo? It's another E7500 board.", taking a closer look will reveal much more. How does the thought of dual GoC NICs and (Zero-Channel RAID ready) U320 SCSI strike you? Yeah. I thought so too.

Anyway... I was too excited to keep it in anymore, so now you know. Just please don't email me asking about my review. It will be along shortly
