The Register Interviews Linus

Man... I can't believe that NOBODY emailed me this link today! Geez, you people asleep or what?!? Hehehe... Anyway! The good fellas over at The Register have posted up a short interview with Linus Torvalds. It's got some very interesting nibblets, but one really jumped out at me:
What was guiding your decision making in the 2.4 kernel? You had a lot of choices, ranging from SMP to small devices
A lot of it's not so much that it's guiding my decision making - I try actively to avoid having specific goals, and with 2.4 the only goals really were SMP scalability and getting the network stack up to snuff. And that was mainly because of - as you know - Mindcraft.
I downloaded the Caldera Linux Technology Preview ISO last night specifically so I could try out the new multithreaded network code. I'll let you know how I fare with it :-)
