Today's New Intel Chipsets
Posted on: 11/18/2002 11:24 PM

It seems that the GeforceFX launch is hogging the spotlight today, but there is plenty more going on in the world of computers today. For once, most of the big news applies to us! That's a nice change, eh?

Anyway... Intel announced a few new chipsets today that are geared to the workstation and server crowd. The E7505, obviously, is the dual Xeon workstation chipset, the E7205 is the workstation P4 chipset, and the E7501 is the server chipset replacement for the E7500.

Of course, everytime there is a new chipset, there are new boards to go along with it. Supermicro and Tyan have new boards sporting all three new chipsets, and we've seen the Iwill and MSI boards already (scroll down this page :-) as well.

I'm sure that more will be coming from COMDEX this week, we'll just have to wait and see.
