Ultra ATA/100 vs. Ultra160 SCSI RAID shootout!
Posted on: 10/03/2000 07:01 PM

GamePC decides to compare Ultra160 SCSI RAID and Ultra ATA/100 RAID. This could prove interesting. IDE RAID has really opened up doors for even the poorest of users to have extremely fast I/O.
Just like SMP, you certainly won't get a 100% increase in hard drive performance by putting it in a RAID configuration, as there is processing overhead from the RAID controller chip. Although in most applications, there will be a significant increase.
Which offers the best bang for your buck? Read and find out.
