VMWare Gains Dual-CPU Support

VMWare has announced that upcoming versions of their software will allow guest OSes to use both CPUs in dual-CPU machines, with quad-CPU support in the works. The higher-end versions of VMWare will get support for more than one CPU first, with the others picking up the feature later on.
But until now, VMware's strategy permitted creation of only single-processor virtual computers. On Monday, the company said its software will enable dual-processor virtual servers, opening the product's use for higher-end tasks such as databases or Microsoft Exchange.
