What a day!

My day started off calm enough, but the longer I was up, the worse it got. I was stopped at a red light this morning, on the way to the vet (to drop my dog off for some surgery), when out of the blue... WHAM! Rear-ended :-/ I'm not sure if the girl was talking on the phone or doing her make-up, but she certainly was NOT looking at the red light or the line of cars stopped in front of it.

Anyway, the real purpose of this post is to let you know that I installed the DirectX 8 Beta on one of my Win2k machines to see if the improvements were as good as people are saying. THEY ARE! I ran some 3DMark 2000 v1.1 benches before and after, and I must say... WOW! My 3DMarks went from the 4500's to the 5300's+. VERY impressive. Everything about 3DMark just seemed smoother to me too. If you are a Win2k user who could use a bit more gaming performance, be sure to grab DX8 when it hits the web... Good stuff for sure.

UPDATE: I figured since DX8 IS still beta, you guys and gals would know enough to approach it with extreme caution.
