I like the boards. The CPU's are at the right price but HEY
the motherboards are BIG bucks and packed with too many
    features.
All I want is high speed memory and 64/32 bit PCI bus
so I can plug the my next Raid card into.

It seems like the regular Joe is left out until
NVidia crush or something else comes along.

I also found the memory thoughput of the AMD 760MP
numbers weird. How is it so much faster to run that test
    with 2 CPU's -vs- 1 CPU??
Yes there should be some difference but the amount the AMD
    761 set shows over a 30% difference.
Intel should about 10 or was it 15%.

Any ideas why that would be?

It's looking like it's an awesome board, but there have been a few references to the fact that it isn't as capable as duallie P4 Xeons for hardcore server applications...

Mostly cause of cache (?) from what I see.

I still want one dammit. I'm not running a hardcore server... :)

I am big time into graphics and video editing.
Thats why my needs are different.

PCI 64 is for the Escolade 64 bit controler card.
The faster memory I/O is for rendering
    video images at high speeds.

The PIV turned me off because of the PCI
is messed up. The Xeon is too much $$.
I was holding out hope for the AMD but
it seems like only big $$ motherboards need apply.

So it looks like I am stuck with the PIV as my only option.
Its 1.5GB/sec memory I/O is just so hot. AMD has not
given me personally an alternative that I can go with.
The 770MB/sec for the afforable 760 chipsets just doesnt
    cut it. ARGHHHHHHHHHH.
    I want the CRUSH.

Because Intel shares one memory bus between both CPUs while AMD has a separate bus for each CPU.

I may not agree with your opinion, but I will defend to the death your right to express it.
