The Velocity Micro NoteMagix M57 Ultra ($3,420 direct) notebook can handle the most intimidating of 3D games without flinching. Backed by the nVidia GeForce Go 7800 GTX, it comes with an integrated TV tuner, a great-lookng screen, and a modular slot for an extra battery. But, the mouse buttons are too far from each other, and you'll find that the notebook is a bit on the heavy side.

![]() Be aware that this is simply the Sager NP5720... which automatically should tell you that this will be OEM's by a kabillion different psuedo-manufacturers. Nothing new... laptop has been around for a while. ![]() And Sager's NP5720 is actually Clevo's M570A which can be found for much cheaper than Sager's NP5720. The only problem with these notebooks is that the customer service isn't there. If you're a geek then you're fine. I've had my D470K for about 8 months now. Little things are quirky on it. My mini-pci slot makes the notebook lock up if I try extended downloads. The PCMCIA slot gets really frickin' hot. The video card, a Mobility 9700 was passively (!!!) cooled so the system will over heat if you don't use a notebook cooler. Clevo's design was bad for my notebook, I'm not sure if it's any good for this notebook but if you jump over to www.notebookforums.com you'll get a better feel for things. - Q6600 @ 3.0ghz (333x9) - 4x1gb DDR2 800 - HD4890 - Asus Maximus Formula X38 - 150GB RaptorX - Antec P180v2 w/ 550w Real Power Pro - |

![]() I just recently purchased a Dell XMS M170 series laptop and I must say it is a beast. I got it on sale for 1300ish after taxes. It includes a 17" screen, 1GB DDR2 RAM, Centrino 2.0Ghz processor, 7800GTX, 60GB 7200 RPM HD, etc... It runs for 3 hours on battery and is quiet unless really gaming for longer periods of time and then the fans kick on but aren't too loud. It is heavy compared to previous laptops but it is also bigger due to screen size and components. The graphics in game are awesome. I think the Dell is the worthy gaming laptop. I love mine and for the price it couldn't be beat.
