With the recent news that certain credit card companies have experienced data theft, I felt this C|Net article might be appropriate.
With the cost of the breach not yet clear, lawmakers and other parties are keeping a close eye on the impact it's having on customers and on the credit card industry's response. Online retailers, which often bear the cost of credit card scams, are especially concerned about a possible influx of fraud.Read the article in its entirety over here.

![]() My fear is that the entire credit rating system is going to go into the toilet. At some point, there will be so many people trying to prove that their information was somehow compromised that it will become increasingly more difficult to obtain "instant" credit, etc. On another note, there isn't really any such thing as security. If it's there, hackers will come.
