How Google plans to up server power efficiency

EDN have posted up an article about Googles plans to up power efficiency. Naturally, most x86 Semiconductors such as Advanced Micro Devices and Intel have gone great lengths releasing products for Servers with Low Voltage or SKU's such as, AMD's HE and Intel's LV series.
Recently, Micron announced an improved Registered DIMM that is lower voltage for less TDP overall in comparison to conventional Registered DRAM for the market currently.
However, Google Engineers have a different approach. Such as moving to single 12v rail only. Read the article here.
