The Inquirer is reporting that IBM plans on introducing a 4-way Opteron server in April or May.
THE WORD on the Investors' Hub is that Big Blue's Sam Palmisano will join HP's Carly Fiorina and introduce a four way Opteron in April or in May.Take a look.

![]() I found out about the Dell oops from the link her on 2cpu. But it was just that, and oops according to Dell - some one time thing for a special customer. I heard that Dell sent Intel a gift basket to smooth things over and now all is well again. The top management meet regularly to hold hands and dance in a circle whilst pretending there's no such proc. as an Opteron. |

![]() back to the original topic... it is nice to see companies such as IBM get opetrons in its lineup, especially when they start carrying four-way systems. although the server market segment is small compared to desktops, getting more of the server market share would hopefully create more orders for AMD-based desktop systems (and thus give AMD a lot more revenue). ![]() More revanue for AMD is good! With the added funds they will be better able to compete with Intel, and in the way things are going now, that is good. alex I finally have SMP. Looking for the next Mrs. Right now (c) 2004. HEMI. |

Well put. Whichever company's processors you like at the moment, the more successes AMD scores the more competitive the CPU market will be, and that is good for everyone. ->Computers ->Folding for team 3074 |
