iPod blamed for spike in subway crime

Posted by: duke on: 05/05/2005 01:46 PM [ Print | 7 comment(s) ]

CNN has posted something interesting in their "Offbeat News" section... apparently Apple's iPod is being blamed for a recent spike in subway crime in New York City!
Police told the city transportation board on Wednesday that 50 iPods have been reported stolen on the subways so far this year, compared to none during the same period last year. Cell phone thefts have more than doubled to 165 from 82 last year.
Damn you Apple!? You can read their entire offbeat report right here.

sounds like how cops use fake hookers to attract bad guys, the crime would have never happened if the bate was not there. So can we blame the cops also for adding crime to their city?

I think you can hardly blame the iPod, it is what is being stolen... The people are the problem.

Yeah, I guess we ought to blame banks for all the bank robberies eh?

The love of money, not money is the root of evil.

I'll just bring a gun and let them have the bullets first before I give the gun to them. Or did I already give it to them when I gave them the bullets? :p
