Microsoft's 10-year-old Certified Professional
Posted by: duke on: 07/15/2005 02:05 PM [ Print | 14 comment(s) ]
Since it's Friday, I thought it would be nice to post something fun. Slashdot has linked to an article discussing the youngest ever Microsoft Certified Professional. A young girl named Arfa Karim Randhawa is a mere 10.
The institute instructors assumed it would take Arfa about a year to go through the process of certification for developing Windows applications. But after four months of study and work, over summer vacation, she passed the required exams. Some of you might want to watch out because this girl might replace you. :-) You can read the article in its entirety over here.

![]() I go around fixing other young developer's ideas of "Applications" and "Deployments" all the time - what would change? Actually, this might be a good thing: Fix it fast or no cartoon channel for you! Seriously, it is a wonderful accomplishment for someone so young; but it is also a two-edged sword: I only hope she can keep her childhood somewhat normal. Girl-talk that includes "Well, I'm having trouble getting this array parsed for this function..." doen't play well with Dolls and Horses, ya know? Thus far, you have been adrift within the sheltered harbor of my patience. Heat All of my heatware comes from Transactions on this board. 2CPU.com is the only board I trade on. I can provide references from other board members on request. |

![]() Did I miss something or did she only get a MPC? Im sure many bright 10 year olds could study and pass that test. Its not like Gates is going to have her programing windows when she is 12. Right before she goes into her pretentious and fashionable Linux and FreeBSD stage. Underpaid, Overworked, Welcome to the Tech industry. |
