Monday Morning DC Update

Folding news
The team is folding full steam ahead and is now slightly outfolding the Francaphone Alliance who are in fifth place, they are 7 million points ahead though so it will be a long time before fifth place becomes a reality. Why not help us in our bid to take fifth place, join us in the forums to learn all about folding.
OC-Xeons had to shut down his folders due to a hurricane which luckily missed his workplace, he is now folding again though at 80% capacity.
SETI News
modboy's production is recovering in SETI@home classic, now near a 290 WU a day production after his workplace was able to replace the machines lost in a fire a few weeks ago. According to Team Captain DeLarge, we should see a little jump in output compared to his previous output of 400 WU a day once the upgrades are complete.
The SETI@home program on BOINC is currently down through the weekend and working on an NFS issue related to their newly installed Snap Appliance 18000 storage device. It was recently installed to provide a 10x speed up over the software RAID that they were using previously to house the DB and the upload and download directories.
Other Projects, This week: Community TSC
As the team founder 2cpus4me explains, "this is a distributed computing project to help prevent childhood diseases, which obviously is a good cause for using your cpu power." The project is organized by the Rothberg Institute For Childhood Diseases, a non-profit organization whose aim is to find a cure for Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC). The results from the project also has a direct impact on cancer research.
This project is powered by the CommunityOS technology developed by Sengent as are other DC projects such as the Drug Design and Optimization Lab (D2OL). The current client is non-SMP aware but fully utilizing an SMP rig is easily done by installing multiple copies into separate directories. Team 2CPU.com is currently at 53rd place out of a total of 293 teams. There are five team members but 2cpus4me is doing the bulk of the work making up nearly 60% of the team's total production. Come join the team and help fight TSC.

![]() 2CPU CTSC team thread. all the needed info is there, and if you need further help post away and someone (most likely 2cpus4me or me, ayt999) will help you shortly. for any info on the 2CPU DC teams go to the DC forums, and any team that isn't related to folding@home or SETI@home will be in the General DC Discussion forum. I had links in there for the first DC Update but they were taken out so I haven't bothered supplying links since then. ![]() SETI@home|folding@home|RC5|find-a-drug|DPAD|ZetaGrid|climateprediction.net| communityTSC|BOINC|Predictor@home|seventeen or bust|ECC2-109 |

You slacker, Alex. Do you do anything for the DC teams at all? Besides participating in every project? And writing my SETI reports for me when I go missing? ![]() For anyone who's interested, modboy is away on his honeymoon. I'll try and find a picture of he and his good lady cutting the cake at the reception, and post it in the SETI forum. How are the "project-of-the-week" blurbs coming along, by the way? Are the smaller teams seeing a greater interest as a result of the frontpage publicity? Regards, DeLarge |
