Jim and I have been discussing this for a while now and we have decided that there really isn't a need for a website dedicated to dual processing anymore. Every half-assed website on the 'net has jumped on the bandwagon since Intel introduced hyper-threading on the P4 ("TWO processor graphs in my task manager!!!") and the introduction of dual-core is only going to make it worse. It's been a good 6 year run, but all good things must come to an end. As such, Jim and I have been asked to write workstation/server content for Tech Report, and we will be merging all of our existing content over there. I'm sure this is going to cause some major discontent, especially with the DC teams, but it was inevitable. I hope you all understand. Things will continue as normal until the move is complete and we'll have more updates as things move along. *EDIT* As is usually the case around here this time of the year, this post was our annual April Fools' Day prank. You can stop sending email now... We'll be around for a long (or at least a little) while.

This is the toughest choice we've had to make in our six years. It's been a wonderful ride, but given the way the online review industry is heading, hitching up with TR probably makes more sense than continuing to struggle along here.

Thanks for all the memories and good times everybody.

The Inquirer had quotes from "Otis B. Driftwood" and "Ford Prefect"...

I hope it's an April fool's joke. It did cause me a moment of excessive adrenaline production. This site is where I refer people for SMP issues. All the other sites, although they try, just aren't up to the level 2CPU is at.

However no one is laughing yet and neither am I...

Well if there no more 2CPU, TR might as well join us and rename our team somerthing else... it would be a heck of a powerful team. :D

And no, Im' not going to TR, I'm going over to overclockers.com, I wouldn't fold for 2CPU's competition

I just finished installing Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 on my first Dual P-III 700 machine and started the downloads on the other two servers (Dual P-III 1.0 Ghz & Dual Celeron 466Mhz). I was on my way over to check 2cpu.com to see if anything was going on and saw the message. :p I was convinced that you guys are closing up shop.

We'll need 2cpu.com more than ever when the multi-core units come out. Besides, there are still many of us that are running hand-me-downs and Frankenstien monsters of computers.

Feels like having our feeding tube pulled! (Sorry, tastelss joke)

Thanks for a great site!

SparksFlyn Oops! shouldn't touch that with a screwdriver while plugged in!

Alas, I too must announce that I will be taking my silly comments to Tech Reports front page. Words cannot express how I feel at bringing you this sad for me, happy for you, news.

I can only wonder what could possibly be picked for the Friday Night Topic. I will suggest to them that it be the demise of 2CPU. Boo Hoo. :(

Hey if this isn't a joke, team 32 could indeed use a folder of your caliber. Heck your stats are better than most of the teams on the list.
