NVIDIA's GeForce 7800 GTX

There doesn't appear to be a lot of news today, so I thought I'd drop a video card (P)review on you. Anandtech has reviewed NVIDIA's latest creation, the Geforce 7800 GTX.
Overall, we consider this a successful launch. Aside from the performance of the 7800 GTX, we can infer that the PS3's RSX will be even more powerful than the G70. As RSX will be a 90nm part and will still have some time to develop further, the design will likely be even easier to program, faster, and full of more new features. If you'd like to read other (P)reviews of the card, just browse to websites like Tech-Report and HardOCP.

I dunno, the technology is good so just give them time to polish it up a bit more. They use less power than the 6800U with better performance and that's a good thing. Now when the prices of those 6800GT/Us drop, thats an even better thing. it also uses less power than the X850. the reason some are not impressed is because some wanted to see large frame rate increases in current games. nvidia built this platform for the future, and it will shine more with newer games. so if you want to play current games, the 6800GT is your card (maybe). but if you want future-proof power, then the 7800GTX is the one. i think the 7800GTX is a great alternative to a 6800Ultra-based SLI setup, though. will deliver par+ performance and draw less power. PureVideo works very well, I barely see CPU usage over 10% when watching videos. Then I have 2 opterons. It's cpu bonded, when you run game at 1600x1200 with 4AA and 8xAF, all the details turnd to highest, you then really see the power of the card, amazing, no lag, super high image quality. |

Until they have rotated sampling matrix antialiasing, I'd still say ATIs are better for games. NVidia's AA sucks. RMN ~~~ |
