We need some news!
Posted by: Hooz on: 04/08/2002 04:57 PM [ Print | 14 comment(s) ]
As you can tell, things have been slow on the news front for the last few days. Since I am getting tired of reading the Anandtech article on database benchmarks over and over again, I'd like to post something... Anything.
What do you think? Can you help us find something to post on here? We will even mention your name and stuff (chicks dig that) in the news post. If you find something newsworthy, drop by the comments thread, or fire an email off to news@2cpu.com, unless someone sends something in, I will be forced to continue watching anime all day (and you know how I hate that ;-).

The Thunder K7X is "now available." It has one 3.3V 64-bit pci and one 5v 64-bit PCI. Also it has, I assume, working USB. http://www.tyan.com/products/html/thunderk7x.html Athlon 64 X2 3800+ on a Tyan Tomcat K8E |

Well since your an anime buff I'll assume you're a newshound as well (and if your not you should be). I have been recently turned onto the best (IMHO) newsgroup program specifically designed for binaries. To make it even more tasty its being simultaneously developed for both Windows and Linux. Binary News Reader/Reaper http://www.co.jyu.fi/~ap/bnr.html /edit/ You know I forgot one other very important thing. Its freeware! -Tanj! My F@H Stats My System Stats |

The rumors of Alphaserver combacks look interesting. Don't know if it's yet another vapor CPU but if the alpha came back in 2Ghz models it would be something. |

alpha is dead as a doornail its a pity because it never lived up to its potential thanks to DEC and compaq's software divisions... it was a superior hardware platform to hp-risc and itanium, sparc too possibly, definetly a case of greed and software holding it back |

Here's an idea: maybe you could go out and FIND something! Yes, I'm just kidding. You just gave us such a straight line to use, I couldn't resist. I'd be interested in a collection of links to dual-CPU theory of operation. For example, this site: http://developer.intel.com/design/Xeon/prodbref/ Or this one on benchmarks: http://developer.intel.com/eBusiness/products/workstation/midhigh/bm011901.htm (and to be fair to my Athlon: http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/TechnicalResources/0,,30_182_739_2989,00.html) This is the kind of stuff geeks like to read and pretend to understand. FYI, I am that geek. Steal this sig! |
