This is an interesting new Xeon 3000 series platform (that will also support Kenstfield, officially). Think (almost) all the features of a real ATX board in half the space. Now imagine the possibilities!

While at Intel for something completely unrelated, I was given the opportunity to get up-close and personal with a beta Tigerton/Caneland platform. For those that don't know, Tigerton is the next evolution (Core 2 based) of the Xeon MP.

AMD's new socket AM2 platform adds support for DDR2 and a few other goodies. This is the test platform they sent, along with the brand spankin' new Athlon 64 X2 5000+!

Supermicro send along this beautiful 1U barebones system. It will be tested with a Fujitsu SAS drive and 2 "Paxville" Xeons.

NVIDIA sent along these two Quadro cards to use for testing, and in our test beds. The 1400 is a nice performer for the money and the 4500 is just plain INSANE!
